How Can We Serve You?

When most people think of "ambulance services" they think of sirens, flashing red lights and a life-threatening situation. In reality, a large portion of what we do includes providing pre-scheduled Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support ambulance transportation of patients between hospitals and other healthcare facilities. These trips, commonly referred to as "Inter-facility Transfers" are an important part of delivering world class healthcare to a community.

Guardian Ambulance Service is currently contracted with facilities throughout Los Angeles County to provide inter-facility transfers. An inter-facility transfer can be an emergency or non-emergency in nature and can be a transfer across town or to a facility out of the county. The level of ambulance service dispatched to each call (ALS, BLS) is based on Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Service protocols that consider the patient’s condition, the duration of the injury or illness and the on-going care or monitoring that the patient may require.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Guardian Ambulance has provided Basic Life Support ambulance services since 1987. BLS ambulances are staffed by two Emergency Medical Technicians. The Basic Life Support ambulance is for individuals who need transportation for emergency and non-emergency situations. Emergency services include minor medical emergencies, minor trauma, psychiatric emergencies and calls responding with 9-1-1 systems.

Some transports include hospital to hospital transports, outpatient visits to doctors’ offices, dialysis transports or transports to the hospital, etc. MedReach Ambulance also provides long distance transports as well. Any of these transports may be scheduled 24-hours a day. Although medically necessary ambulance transportation is covered by most insurance plans, your medical insurance might not cover some non-emergency transports. Our staff can assist you with this information. Learn More
